Huaka'i 2024: Ma ō ka ʻāina; ma ō ke kai

Your donation will support HMH’s education programs around 19th century history  tangibly to form a deeper connection to the lives and stories, including:

  • Onsite fieldtrips to Hawaiʻi’s two oldest still-standing Western style houses and  reproduction of a nineteenth-century printing press.
  • Scholarships for transportation and/or admission.  
  • Virtual field trip of Hawaiʻi’s history to classrooms.  
  • Award-winning Historical Portrayals with Question & Answer. ∙ Field trips available in ‘ōlelo Hawai‘i and within a Hawaiian perspective. All field trips meet Hawaiʻi Department of Education Content & Performance  Standards and can be customizable to specific needs.  
  • One teacher at August Ahrens Elementary School shared: “You helped to give the  keiki in our community free access to place-based and hands-on experiences that we are  not really able to do in a normal classroom setting.”
